Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder characterized by a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, and withdrawal from reality into fantasy and delusion.
There are different subtypes of schizophrenia, each characterized by specific symptoms. The most common subtypes include paranoid, disorganized, catatonic, and undifferentiated schizophrenia.
